Vera was 4 years 1 day old.
Today Vera completed 4 rotations around the sun. To celebrate we rented out an entire movie theater at 6:45pm on a Wednesday night for her and a few of her classmates. I’ve never had a more enjoyable time in a theater filled with 3 & 4 year olds.
For some reason they all decided to sit in the very first row but they eventually made their way around to different seats throughout the movie. Zadie thought it was too loud but eventually got accustomed to the audio level. Kristina got every family popcorn and sugar free lemon gatorade in cups mostly filled with ice. The kid commentary during the showing of Abominable was hilarious. They even managed to sit still and pay attention for most of the movie. For many it was their first time watching a movie at a theater and they were free to be as disruptive as they wanted since it was just us.
For a brief moment we got to forget that we are in the middle of a terrible pandemic that has changed every bit of normalcy in our lives for the past year.
Tuckered out, Vera fell asleep in the car on the way home and I had to carry her up to bed. After wrapping her in her blanket she murmured “that was so much fun. I want to be 4 forever” before turning over in bed.
